- Invest in techniques using smaller amounts of chemicals
- Only ordering sufficient quantities of chemicals to perform required analyses
- Move to in-house gas generation for Nitrogen and Hydrogen
- Ensuring taps are turned off when not in use
- Make operations paperless where feasible, reducing paper consumption and the environmental impact of sending hard copies by post or courier
- Using Eco-efficient paper where print copies are required and EU Ecolabeled tissues
- Making use of the Council Waste Recycling Scheme for Paper, Plastics and Glass
- Harmful chemical waste is disposed of via licensed operators and not down the sink
