Climate change laws and regulations are constantly expanding and requiring tighter controls around
energy generation and consumption. Butterworth are responding to this by:
- Obtaining energy ratings for their buildings
- Monitoring Gas, Electricity and Water usage
- Monitoring power usage of individual instruments
- Turning off instruments and equipment not being used, where practicable
- Energy efficiency is part of the selection criteria when replacing old and investing in new instruments and equipment
- Fridges and Freezers are defrosted and cleared regularly and temperatures are monitored to ensure they are staying within specified limits
- Fume hoods are kept clear of unnecessary equipment, sashes are kept lowered and extractors are turned off when not required
- Lights are turned off when not in use and moving to LED fittings as part of ongoing refurbishment
- Installation of High Reflectivity Window Films
- Installation of Heat Exchange system into our Air Conditioning
- Investment in Solar Panels as part of the next building project
