David Riches, our Head of Analytical Operations, together with his wife Tippy, who works part time in our Business Development department, have just undertaken for the second time, the responsibility of helping to prepare a Labrador puppy to becoming a Guide Dog for the Blind. Daisy has been living with the family since she was 7 weeks old and they have all enjoyed watching her develop into a very adorable and obedient dog. They will find out in around 6 month’s time whether she has passed all her exams to become someone’s Guide Dog.
John Welch, Head of Business Operations, along with his wife Jenny who works part time in the Accounts Department, have been assisting their daughters in raising £1800 each to go to Uganda this August. They will be travelling with a group from their church to help work at a charity called Watoto Child Care Ministries, which is home to an entire generation of children and young people who have been orphaned by decades of poverty, AIDS and violence.
On June 16th Pareen Shah, one of our Analytical Chemists, will be taking part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride to raise money for the charity British Heart Foundation. This follows in the tradition set by a now retired member of staff, John Wright, who regularly took part in the event well into his 70’s.
