This technique allows the qualitative and quantitative determination of metals and certain non-metallic elements from low ppb to percentage levels allowing for the simultaneous determination of both high and low level elements. Radial and axial views are available depending on expected levels in solution.
Applicable to either aqueous liquids. organic or inorganic materials. Samples may be prepared by dissolution or digestion using microwave digestion techniques and analysed as aqueous solutions.
The solution is introduced as a spray into an argon plasma. The elements are detected from the light emitted at characteristic wavelengths which have been separated using a diffraction grating. Depending on the expected concentrations in solution, the analytical range can be extended by using radial and axial views.
