Much of this work requires expertise in Ion Chromatography, a technique that we have been using since the introduction of the first commercial instruments around 20 years ago.

For organisations that do not have their own in-house chemist, Butterworth offers outstanding electro-plating and metal finishing solutions, where quality control is paramount. Solutions can be analysed in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, or by in-house methods we have developed over a number of years working in this field. We can advice you on necessary adjustments to comply with operating specifications and on how to avoid hazards associated with handling these types of chemicals. Results can be reported electronically by e-mail or fax to allow for faster response times.

Although traditional gravimetric and titrimetric techniques are applied to a majority of the analyses, Ion Chromatography has been developed to deal with mixed acid etchants, especially those containing mixtures of nitric and hydrofluoric acids.
